国家の一大事でもなければ捜査を請け負わないポワロだが、トッド夫人の依頼を受け、失踪した炊事婦イライザの捜査をすることになる。イライザからは何の連絡もないまま、何故か彼女の荷物の入ったトランクを引き取りに車が来る。一方、ベルグラビア銀行では盗難が発覚し、銀行員が一人行方不明になっていた。この二人の行方不明者はどこに？ そして失踪の理由とは？（アマゾンビデオより）

階級社会
最初ポワロは料理人を捜す依頼を断りますが、当時の階級社会では、奉公人を探すのに私立探偵を雇うことはめったにないことなのでしょう。またミドルクラスのトッド氏やトッド夫人の高慢な感じも見どころです。
コックを捜せ、は下ネタ？
英会話の先生から教わったのですが、cook の発音はクックという発音に近く、コックの発音だと俗語で男性の性器を意味するそうです(ひぇ～）外国では要注意ですね。邦題は『コックを捜せ』なのでそのままタイトルにしました。
